My mother decorates her home for all of the holidays, but Christmas even outdoes Halloween.  From the day after Thanksgiving until December 7th, she and I get busy with the decorations, each year adding a few more.  We flip the switch on Dec. 7th to honor my dad's birthday.  In 1988, my parents moved to Fresno from LA and that year she put out luminiers on Christmas Eve.  The next year a few of the neighbors joined her in lining the curbs and by the early 90's a committee was formed to line the streets of our neighborhood.  Contributions from the neighborhood enable every street and cul-de-sac to be lined from Bullard to Sierra and from Fruit to West.  It is a beautiful sight to behold.
