Denver, CO (Sports Network) - Thanks to Tampa Bay's loss to Denver on Sunday, the Atlanta Falcons have clinched the top spot in the NFC South.

Atlanta had defeated the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night to move to 11-1 on the season, five games ahead of the Buccaneers with only four to play in the regular season.

The Falcons have now won their division for the second time in the past three seasons and hold a 2 1/2-game lead over San Francisco for the best record in the NFC.
