Viera, FL (Sports Network) - The Washington Nationals and pitcher Jordan Zimmermann have agreed to terms on a contract for the 2013 season, thus avoiding arbitration.

Zimmermann saw the most action of his four-year career in 2012, posting a 12-8 record and 2.94 earned run average over 32 starts.

The 26-year-old right-hander was selected by the Nationals in the second round of the 2007 amateur draft and has compiled a 24-26 record with a 3.47 ERA over 81 starts.
