FREMONT, Calif. (AP) — A Fremont man was in stable condition after police say he was shot six times during a robbery attempt.

Police say the 21-year-old man was shot when two men entered a home in Fremont early Sunday and demanded money from the people inside the home.

Investigators say the victim was shot after he armed himself with a gun and became involved in a gunfight with one of the suspects. No names have been released.

Fremont police are looking for two suspects.
