Power outages are reported after a big rig smash up and explosion in Madera.
According to the CHP, a blue pickup truck was traveling east on Avenue 12 at around 45 miles per hour
when it collided with a telephone pole.
The pickup then veered into the path of a semi truck, and crashed into it's exterior gas tank. The truck exploded.
The big rig driver managed to make it out unhurt. The driver and passenger of the pickup were transported to the hospital.
Avenue 12 remains closed between State Route 145 and Road 26.
PG&E crews are working to fix the downed poles and restore power to affected customers.
The estimated repair time is 9PM.
