Warning of lottery scam in Madera County

The Madera County Sheriff's Department is warning citizens to watch out for a lottery scam.

Notices have been received in the mail, telling the recipient they have won $4.5 million from the Microsoft Lottery Commission.

The notice has instructions to contact a claim agent in order to collect your winnings.

The sheriff says it is a scam and you should just throw the notice away.
