A murder investigation is under way near River Park in Fresno.

Neighbors say Brandon Cruz was beaten and stabbed Sunday morning off Minarets Avenue.

Friends and family held a vigil for Cruz Sunday night.

Police are still gathering information on suspects and motive for the murder.

Witnesses saw a group of men attack the victim.
