Hundreds of people gathered beside a busy Fresno road Tuesday night to remember a 15 year old girl killed in a hit and run crash.
The vigil took place just hours after police announced a potential break in the case.
Tiani's body was found late Sunday night, along Marks Avenue near Emerson.
Police believe she was walking in the road near the curb when she was hit by a car. The driver kept going.
At the vigil, tears were shed and loved ones hugged one another, remembering Tiani.
"Why, why did this happen? We need closure," said Tiani's aunt Yolanda Thompson.
Tiani's aunts and cousins joined her mother and grandmother. They said prayers and lit candles for Tiani. And they prayed for answers: who hit Tiani and didn't stop to help her.
"I want the lord to trouble whoever did this, trouble his or her heart. Because what you did, to leave her like that, it's not right, its not fair," said Tiani's cousin Mildred Thompson.
Police have an idea of the type of car that hit Tiani. They're looking for an early 2000 model Mitsubishi Eclipse. It likely has damage to the front end of the car.
Sunday night, Tiani was spending the night at a friend's house. And was believed to be walking to see her boyfriend when she was hit and killed. Police believe Tiani may have been on the side of the road for half an hour before her body was discovered.
"I just pray that the investigators do their jobs well and that this person is brought to justice so my family can have closure," said Tiani's aunt Demi Braggs.
