Two people are in custody after they led Fresno police on a high-speed chase around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

The suspects are accused of stealing a car in West Fresno.

When police began to follow the suspects, they took off along Highway 180, reaching speeds of 90 miles per hour.

Fresno police called off the pursuit for safety reasons but the police helicopter followed from above.

The driver got off Highway 180 at Clovis Avenue, lost control, and crashed into the median at Belmont Avenue.

The man and woman inside the car were arrested.
