Just after three in the afternoon, Fresno County Sheriff's deputies were called to a fight and then a shooting at a home on south Cherry Avenue near Central Avenue.
Ron Riding lives across the street and heard three gunshots.
“The donut man pulled up and said there were two guys lying on the ground over there. So I went to look. I didn't go across the street but I could see the bodies and a lot of blood,” said Riding.
Two men were found wounded in front of the home. Relatives said the victims were a father and son: the father in his 40s, the son 21 or 22 years old.
Investigators said both men were shot in the torso.
“One subject was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second suspect was transported to Community Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased at the hospital,” said Deputy Chris Curtice, with the Fresno County Sheriff’s department.
Investigators said the victims did not live at the home. But the suspects may live at the house where the shooting occurred.
One of the suspects was arrested about three hours after the shooting
“He has been transported to the sheriff's department where he is talking with detectives as we speak,” Deputy Curtice said.
When they arrested the one suspect, they also found a gun believed to be the murder weapon.
While deputies searched the property, they found a marijuana garden behind the mobile home on the property.
A federal narcotics search warrant will be served Tuesday morning at the address.
