46-year-old Allen Anderson and 41-year-old Dave Hamilton were both arrested last week in connection with the arson fire at the Kings Country Club near Laton in July of 2008.

The Kings Country Club was totally destroyed by the fire and investigators announced very quickly that the cause was arson.

The facility dated back to the 1920’s and was being renovated when flames ripped through it on July 7, 2008. The damage was estimated to be around $750,000.

Construction on the new country club began last month and is scheduled to be completed in March of next year.

Investigators have been looking for the suspects for more than a year. Kings County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Hamilton and Anderson last week and charged the two Laton men with arson, conspiracy and insurance fraud. Their bail was set at over a quarter of a million each.

The two men, who served as volunteer firefighters in Laton, were arrested shortly after the fire last year but were later released.
