An Amtrak train crashed into an unoccupied SUV parked on the tracks near Bullard and Brawley in northwest Fresno Wednesday night.

The crash happened around 9:40 p.m. in a stretch of track that does not have a road crossing, so it's unclear why the vehicle was on the tracks.

The commuter train was traveling south from Oakland to Bakersfield, and was scheduled to stop at the Fresno station in downtown Fresno.

There were 98 passengers on the train, that traveled about 100 feet after hitting the SUV.

The crash caused a delay of about 2 hours.

There were no injuries.
