Fresno fire investigators are trying to figure out what started an overnight house fire.
The fire started in the garage of a home near Fresno and Marks around midnight Monday night.
Three people suffered smoke inhalation after they went back into the house to get personal belongings.
Fresno Fire Battalion Chief Chuck Tobias said, "They should have not gone back in and because they did, now we've got three of them that are being treated for smoke inhalation. It doesn't appear that any of them are going to have any life-threatening injuries, but nonetheless, we would have had no injuries at all had they not gone back inside."
Fire crews contained the fire to the garage. There is no word yet on damage estimates or what caused the fire.
