Tensions flare again on tribal land... one year after tribal infighting sparked violence.
At least fifty officers from multiple agencies are surrounding road 41 and all streets leading into the Chukchansi Casino.
Madera County's Sheriff says he's hearing threats that people are planning to storm the complex, and they’re making sure there is not a repeat of last year.
That's when the tribal faction split after a disputed election ...and the tribes erupted into chaos.
“We heard that there was going to be a rush on the compound with a bunch of people that are outside...one side is in control of the compound. The other is locked away,” said Madera County Sheriff John Anderson.
Sheriff John Anderson says tensions started rising Thursday after a referendum, which led the tribal council to split again.
All this as two groups claim to be the in charge of the Chukchansi Indian Tribe.
