Suspicious device at Mendota High a fake

Noon Update: 

Student were evacuated and the Mendota Police Department was called after a suspicious device was discovered Tuesday morning at Mendota High School.

The package was wrapped in red paper and had a note written in Spanish warning students.

The bomb squad responded and sprayed the suspicious device with a high-pressure water canon from a robot and discovered it was a block of wood and not a bomb.

Investigators are trying to determine who is responsible for the prank.

All classes were canceled following the evacuation.


Tuesday Morning:

Mendota High School was evacuated and classes canceled Tuesday morning because of a suspicious package.
