A parolee is back in jail after a chase near Blackstone and Herndon.

Officers tried to pull the man over Monday night but he sped down a frontage road along Herndon Avenue and then crashed into a dumpster enclosure.

The suspect relieved only minor injures.

Another police chase in Fresno resulted in taking a high-powered assault rifle off the streets.

Police spotted an SUV connected to a crime and tried to pull it over.

The driver sped off and eventually ditched the SUV near Fresno City College and the suspects fled on foot. They were later caught and arrested.

The rifle was found inside the abandoned SUV.
