A suspect in a stolen car was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase that ended with a crash near Olive and Clovis Avenues.

The chase began in the area of Jensen and Highway 99 and headed north to the area near Fresno State, before heading south again to Clovis and Olive.

During the chase, the suspect allegedly used his vehicle to try to hit the officers.

The police eventually used a PIT maneuver, a technique used to cause the suspect to fishtail out of control.

Lt. Joe Gomez with the Fresno Police Department said, "Actually, when they did the PIT maneuver, right here at Clovis and Olive, the vehicle rolled. It did roll but then it landed on its wheels and it continued to take off, so we had to use the PIT maneuver again."

The man was taken into custody and transported to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police believe the suspect was under the influence of drugs.
