Investigators across Central California are on the hunt for a team of thieves robbing hotels, along main highways including Interstate-5 and Highway-99
Thieves have robbed eight hotels in six cities since Saturday night.
Surveillance video captures three thieves, covered in hoodies and masks, storming into a Holiday Inn in Kingsburg.
One jumps over the counter...gun in hand.
He looks around, heads for the register, and takes off with the cash tray.
A similar heist went down at the Parkland Inn in Fresno, except this time, Jacob Henley was working the night shift.
"This guy busts in the room. He had a pink backpack and a ski mask and a gun, and he came around... two other people followed him in,” said Jacob Henley.
Two headed to the back office, and dragged out the hotel owner, while the gunman threatened to shoot.
“He said…give us the money this is not a joke… I’ll shoot you... he had the gun out... visible,” Henley said.
Henley handed over $200 and the crooks fled.
It’s the first of seven valley hotels robbed in three nights.
Two were robbed in Fresno, Saturday.
One in Kingsburg then a few miles away in Selma, Sunday.
Two in Coalinga and all the way up in Santa Nella, Monday.
Another in Patterson, Tuesday morning.
Different agencies are now combining resources to crack the case.
They’re looking for a getaway car, described as a small white or silver colored car.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office at 488-3111.
