Starting Monday night, connector ramps from North and Southbound 41 to East 180 will be closed from the 10pm-6am so additional concrete barriers can be put in place.
"Yeah it's going to be pretty much an inconvenience for a lot of people but I guess we'll just deal with it and go on, you know what else you can do,” motorist Mark Contreras said.
Caltrans says the ramp closure is necessary in order to better protect workers from traffic but admits the closures will inconvenience some motorists.
"We are actually asking motorists if they can avoid the area all together from 10pm tonight until 6am in the morning,” said Gloria Rodriguez of Caltrans.
The ramps will begin operating normally again Friday, but traffic flow will continue to be altered by a recent reduction in 180 East from three lanes to two.
"Right now the new lane configurations that they do see on Eastbound 180 will be in place until spring of this year,” Rodriguez said.
The highway patrol is also urging motorists to drive cautiously during the ramp closures and take note of the changes.
"Basic thing is just to slow down and maybe start a little bit earlier,” said CHP Officer James Pennick.
