South Valley school locked down following shooting

Sunnyside Elementary School in Strathmore was locked down after a shooting victim showed up near the campus.

The shooting did not happen at the school. It occurred at Avenue 196 and Road 196 about 3 miles away, but the shooting victim arrived in front of the school a short time later, causing the school to lock down.

The Tulare County Sheriff's Department is giving few details while they conduct their investigation.

The victims are two males. The driver had glass cuts to the face from the shooting and the passenger suffered a gunshot wound to the upper torso.

Both victims were transported to the hospital.

The scene was cleared and the school was reopened.
