Monday was the first snow for most parts of the Sierra.

November 17th is the scheduled opening day for China Peak but the season just might start a lot sooner if conditions remain favorable.

Snow could be seen as low as 6,000 feet, which is a very good sign for China Peak Ski Resort.

China Peak Marketing Manager Michelle Vikupitz said, "We're getting ready. A lot more of this and some good nights of snow making and we could have an early opening like last year. We opened a week before Thanksgiving."

For the residents, the first snow is a reminder that it's time to get ready for winter.

China Peak has 300 seasonal positions to fill before opening day and will have a job fair on Friday and Saturday at Sierra Vista Mall.
