The Bullard High gymnasium was locked down Wednesday night during a basketball when gunshots were heard nearby.
The shooting was reported around 8:30 p.m. near the campus, located on Palm Avenue near Bullard Avenue in Fresno.
The gym was packed at the time and police would not anyone leave while they cleared the parking lot to look for suspects and victims. When neither was found, they let spectators leave about 20 minutes later.
Police searched the area and located a truck nearby that had bullet holes but were not sure at that point if they were from that same shooting.
The truck was parked on Browning Avenue at the northeast corner of the school campus.
The shots were heard by officers on campus as well as neighbors, who also reported seeing people running after they heard the shots.
The basketball game was between Bullard and Edison, who have had a longtime rivalry, so some fans speculate that may be the reason for the gunshots.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Fresno Police Department.
