The California Highway Patrol says it has responded to a handful of wrecks in the Fresno area Friday.  Officers say the thing they all had in common was that the drivers were out doing some shopping.

The C.H.P. says the problem is many drivers may be focusing more on their Black Friday ads than on the road itself.

It was around 2:30 p.m. on Highway 41, just south of Ashlan Ave., that a woman rolled her car.  She says she swerved to avoid another vehicle that was coming into her lane and then lost control.  Luckily she was not seriously hurt.

Officer Axel Reyes says when you’re driving, that’s your priority and you should not get caught up daydreaming about the sales at a store.

“When you get there then think about what you want to do, but on the way there concentrate on your driving and really pay attention.  High visual horizon is something we always emphasize, look past that vehicle ahead of you and see if those cars are starting to slow down and if they are that means you need to start slowing down,” said Axel Reyes of the C.H.P.

Remember, maximum enforcement remains in effect through Sunday night.  That means that extra C.H.P. officers are out on patrol writing tickets for those of you who are not obeying the rules of the road.

Keep in mind there is a Fresno State football game Saturday at 12:30 p.m.,  so that combined with the shopping traffic is going to make it more congested on Highway 41, especially on Shaw Ave.
