Crystal Reynoso and Gail Scarber raced out of the Fresno County Jail Sunday evening and had just one expletive for nearby media crews.

Reporter:  Do you guys have anything to say?

“F**k you,” said Crystal Reynoso.

The two women are the mother and sister of Spencer Scarber, a convicted rapist who was recently captured in Mexico.

Spencer's father, Kyle Scarber, is also implicated in this case.  He too has bailed out of jail. Kyle is a high ranking officer with the California Highway Patrol.

Everyone is free thanks to Lucky Bail Bonds, which loaned them $39,000.

Owner Barry Pearlstein says one thing they have to do to stay out of trouble is show up to court. He’s confident they will.

“I'd be in total disbelief if anything went sideways at this point,” said Barry Pearlstein of Lucky Bail Bonds.

It’s interesting Pearlstein helped out this family when you consider history.  The last time Pearlstein bailed out Spencer Scarber, he fled to Mexico.  A vanishing act that left Lucky Bail Bonds on the hook for $855,000.

So why help the Scarber family if they are suspected of covering up his disappearance?

“The real issue at hand was Spencer and that is resolved.  I'm not going to take it personally that they chose not to be truthful with me.  This is about what we do and it's about undertaking business and making sure these people show up and have their cases adjudicated.  If we are successful in doing that then we've done the right thing,” said Pearlstein.

CBS47 spoke to Kyle Scarber's attorney, who says claims of Kyle aiding in his son's getaway are false and he plans to fight them during a trial.

“They better have all their ducks in a row.  If they don't and they're disparaging somebody who has spent his entire career being not only an ethical officer, but also a leader among police officers, I'm going to expose it,” said Marshall Hodgkins, defense attorney.

Spencer Scarber is not eligible for bail.  He is awaiting sentencing and could get 70 years in prison.

I don't believe for a minute that Mr. Scarber knew nothing about hiding his son. I hope that family gets what they deserve if allegations are proven true. And I hope the cowardly rapist rots in hell.
