A SWAT standoff was in progress at noontime near a Clovis elementary school.
Miramonte Elementary School on Bellaire Avenue, near Ashlan and Fowler Avenues, has been put on high alert.
Stanford Avenue to the east of campus was closed to traffic.
Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies and members of the SWAT team are on the scene because a man has barricaded himself inside the home.
