Pom Wonderful is expanding with an aircraft runway. All permits in place and ready to go, but a few neighbor's are worried about the noise it will cause once planes fly in and out. Pom Wondeful did several studies, including a noise study recently and got permission from Fresno County to move forward with the project.

Pom Wonderful released this statement to CBS47:

Statement on Del Rey Runway – February 4, 2013

POM Wonderful cares deeply about being a good neighbor in Del Rey. That’s why as soon as we realized we needed a small landing strip to support our business growth, we participated in numerous public dialogues to share our plans with our neighbors and hear their concerns. We also conducted a noise study sanctioned by Fresno County, which found that the noise generated from this runway would be less than that of a truck driving down the road.

We have acquired all the valid use and construction permits required for the project. We met with Mr. Escobar in January, shared our flight maps with him and confirmed that planes would not be flying near his property.

At POM Wonderful, we’re proud to have built a global brand by staying true to community values. We will continue to proudly support the local workforce and the local community by investing in good jobs and organizations like the Del Rey Community Center and the Del Rey Elementary School.
