Since October, when prison realignment took effect in California 38,000 convicted criminals who would have gone to prison have been sent to county jails or community supervision.

Assaults on correctional officers in the jail are also up. In stead of sending some of these fellows to prison or long terms in jail… we need a death penalty that is more liberally applied and enforced. Don’t send them to San Quinton for execution… toss a rope over the big tree in court house square and deal with it locally… Let the citizens bring their baskets filled with fried chicken so they can picnic while they watch the festivities…
