Service men stood in formation for a 21-gun salute.

Bells of remembrance rung five times in a series of fives before the military flyover…

The American flag was presented to a former member of the port authority who survived the attacks...

Retired FDNY firefighter Andrew Isolano stood strong.

“Today it's been tough so far.  I’m hoping it's just today and then we'll move on again.  It’s 11 years out and it could be the next day for me,” Isolano said.

Isolano currently works as a fire inspector for the Clovis Fire Department.

“People always ask me don't you want to be in New York with your buddies and yah- I miss them but this is a good place for me,” he said.

From amazing grace to the national anthem… the healing continues.

“I came because my dad fought in wars for this country to keep us free,” said Brenda Florez.

Florez is now teaching her grandchildren to appreciate our country's sacrifices.

Sacrifices Marine Staff Sergeant William Cardinal never loses sight of.

“It's really important to realize that we're vulnerable and if we don't keep remembering today...it's going to happen again,” the Marine Staff Sergeant said.
