Retired FDNY firefighter Andrew Isolano stood strong.
“Today it's been tough so far. I’m hoping it's just today and then we'll move on again. It’s 11 years out and it could be the next day for me,” Isolano said.
Isolano currently works as a fire inspector for the Clovis Fire Department.
“People always ask me don't you want to be in New York with your buddies and yah- I miss them but this is a good place for me,” he said.

Florez is now teaching her grandchildren to appreciate our country's sacrifices.
Sacrifices Marine Staff Sergeant William Cardinal never loses sight of.
“It's really important to realize that we're vulnerable and if we don't keep remembering today...it's going to happen again,” the Marine Staff Sergeant said.
