A 9/11 commemoration was held Monday night by the Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno.

Leaders from different religious groups were on the panel as dozens of community members asked questions about religion and peace.

The Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno and the Interfaith Alliance of Central California organized the panel with different religious leaders.

Rabbi Rick Winer of Temple Beth Israel said, "I think it's wonderful to be able to model that all of the different religious groups come together, not only to do good work together, but that we actually enjoy it."

The event was held on the eve of 9/11.

Davena Witcher is the development director at American Medical Overseas Relief in Fresno, a non-profit organization that started in 2001 after the 9/11 attacks, focusing on providing health care in Afghans tan. Witcher came to the event to hear the panel and support the event. "It's extremely unfitted that a few minority people who has the same religion were able to change the minds of so many people," said Witcher.

The room was filled with people who come from different backgrounds: Muslim, Christan, Jewish, and Sikh.

The panel talked about peace and all religions having the same goal.
