A CBS47 exclusive.  An Oakhurst man speaks out about what lead him to put down a severely beaten puppy.  Eugene Christopher said he was at a park in Oakhurst when a woman came up to him with a puppy in her backpack.  He heard it whimpering and noticed it had been badly beaten.  "It just needed to be put out of its misery.  I mean I don't mean to say it all rude and stuff like that but I took care of it," Christopher said.  The woman is identified as 39-year-old Janice Aguilar.  She is accused of beating the puppy.  A witness says she slammed the puppy's head into the ground.  The Madera County Sheriff's Department says the beating was so severe, one of the dog's eyes popped out.  Aguilar claims a pitbull attacked the puppy.  She is now facing felonly animal cruelty charges.
