Proposed Cut Backs for Fresno Police

More than 180 positions are on the chopping blocks. Right now, the department relies on Community Service Officers and cadets to take care of low priority calls. There are 43 of them in the field, but if the proposed cuts go through, there will only be 10. The Police Officers Association plans to meet with other labor groups next Wednesday to find ways to fight the city’s plan.
