A pedestrian is killed on southbound Freeway 41.

It happened between Tulare and O Street just before 7pm Friday night.

The highway patrol began getting calls of a pedestrian on the freeway.

He was later struck by an SUV.

"The Avalanche struck the pedestrian, causing him to hit the ground. From there, another vehicle came and struck the pedestrian dragging him down the road," Axel Reyes, an officer with the California Highway Patrol said.

The second vehicle lost control and was rear-ended.

Another car in the same area was then hit by a D.U.I. driver.

The incidents left five cars damaged and sent one person the hospital.
