On Sunday the connector ramp from 41 to 180 east will be shut down from 7AM to 5PM, so anyone driving in the area should seek alternate routes.

"It will be frustrating having it closed, but that project will help out in the long run," Sarah Kuttner said.

It's called the braided ramps project.

Where ramps will go over each other to create several designated by pass lanes so drivers have the option to continue on the lane their on without having to merge.

"I think it needs some help,"Kuttner said.

Some drivers say giving Fresno freeways a make over is long over due.

"People don't see you, 3 lanes turning into 1 lane," Kuttner said.

Other drivers don't think spending up the $49 milliona in that area is worth it.

"Do something with 99. that's the worse road we have," Chris O'Neill said.

Whether drivers agree with it or not, the Braided Ramps Project has already begun, and road detours can be expected until it's complete.

"There will be delays and we emphasize people to seek alternate routes," Neil Betz said.

Caltrans also wants to remind drivers to be extra cautious and watch your speed when you drive near these cones. It's an indication that construction crews are on site working.
