Fire investigators are looking for the cause of a fire at a store in Fresno on Wednesday.

The fire happened around 4:00 a.m. at the Lewis Avenue Market near Fresno Street and Olive Avenue.

When the first engines arrived, they immediately called for back-up.

Fresno Fire Department Battalion Chief Tony Escobedo said, "This fire did go to a second alarm for a couple of reasons... Not only is it an old building, and that presents a lot of dangers but it was covered with iron bars and doors, which I have to have additional crews to remove those to make sure that any firefighters inside the building can evacuate quickly if needed."

It appears the fire started outside the building. The cause is still under investigation.

There is still no word on the cost of the damage to the store.
