One dead in North Valley officer-involved shooting

A suspect is dead after an officer involved shooting in Merced County.

It happened just after midnight on Wednesday in the Atwater / Livingston area.

Two Ceres police officers and a California Highway Patrol officer opened fire on a man armed with a rifle. 

No officers were injured.

The Merced County Sheriff's Department is investigating.

It's unknown at this time if the suspect was killed by the officers or if it was self inflicted.
