Fresno police were forced to fire on a suspect near Chestnut and Kings Canyon.

Two officers recognized the suspect as he rode his bicycle.

When they tried to get him to stop, he peddled faster, eventually ditching the bike at a home where he tried to go inside but could not get in. The suspect took off running again.

Police say that's when he reached down in his waistband area and they believed he was reaching for a gun and one of the officers fired.

The suspect was taking to the hospital with non life-threating wounds.

The suspect is a Bulldog gang member that's been in and out of prison. He also had a felony warrant for selling drugs.

Officers say they found meth that the suspect tossed into some nearby bushes.

His name or mugshot has not yet been released.
