Deputy Fire Chief Michael Despain was sworn in as the new fire chief for the City of Clovis.
Despain has 17 years experience in both the Clovis and Fresno Fire Departments.
Chief Despain said, "It's really kind of a dream come true and the best part is I'm the fire chief of an organization where I'm friends and family with the firefighters."
Chief Despain replaces the out going chief, Lee Kraft, who is retiring at the end of March.
