A murder investigation is underway in Merced after a fatal shooting on Wednesday.
One person was gunned down in an area full of college students and families.
The shooting happened just before 5:00 p.m. on Park Avenue at the Creekside Apartments.
Police have a suspect in custody but are not giving any details while they follow up on leads.
They also have not released any information about the victim.
