Molly’s story was told of how she was tied in a sack with another puppy and thrown into a canal where she was left to die. After floating for about three days, she was rescued by Sheriff’s Deputies near Riverdale and taken to the SPCA. The other dog did not survive the ordeal.
Molly was cared for and nursed back to health by the SPCA and was featured on CBS47’s Pet Place and then adopted a few hours later.
Molly, named after the Unsinkable Molly Brown, the American socialite who survived the Titanic disaster, was adopted by Diane Ostrem to give to her mother Marla, who lives in Cayucos near Morro Bay. Marla recently lost her canine companion and is very excited about her new best friend. Diane said, “She will be a wonderful mother for Molly and Molly will have a wonderful home so it’s just a happy ending for everybody; a nice Thanksgiving.”
The SPCA reminds people that anyone can drop off a pet with no questions asked 365 days a year so there is no reason to abandon or harm an unwanted pet.
