There had been a lock-down at Charles Wright Elementary school in Merced. Shots had been fired in a Merced neighborhood, and many students are teachers were still on campus for an after-school program.
After searching a house on the 900 block of East 20th Street, police found a shotgun. That’s when 24 year old Daniel Torres and 36 year old Jason Musquiz on Wednesday night.
The school is operating normally again on Thursday morning.
