Chris Johnson hasn't seen his wife for six months, but he's meeting his four-month-old boy Trevor for the first time.

Yes, that little one wearing the sparkley "Daddy It's Me" sign.

"It's a great feeling, long time waiting. A little over four months now I was deployed when he was born, but can't wait to start practicing being a father," Johnson said.

He was on a security operation task force in the Mediterranean Sea.

His wife MaryAnn emailed pictures and skyped.

"It was hard because he's not there for the birth too see his son, to hold him," Maryann Johnson said.

Her mom and mom in law were there during the pregnancy.

"Went to every doctor's appointment for the birth, cut the umbilical cord," Christina Gonzalez said.

"My heart aches all the time for him. Now he's going to get to see his son and he looks just like him, it's hard," Sonia Wilson said.

The airport was packed with parents feeling the same thing.

Their sons also came back from deployment.

For them, the biggest gift besides serving our country, Christmas with the family and a new challenge.

"My wife is a great mom and I'm just now starting to understand what its like to be a dad," Johnson said.
