We've all seen the bad guys run from the cops, but rarely do you see them run to the cops.

"Maybe it was just instant karma, it happened immediately, he got what he deserved," Manuel Ramirez said.

The unmarked building didn't look like much to Maurice Hackett when he decided to hop over the fence, but little did he know he was running right into police terriroty.

"The officers were in fact standing by,"Sgt. Paul Cervantes said.

It all started when Fresno police showed up at the Cedar Courts Apartment Wednesday night looking for another parolee who lived in that apartment, but when they arrived they found Maurice Hackett instead, who police say is also a parolee and a known gang member with a stolen gun.

"He ran from law enforcement basically in his underwear,"Sgt. Cervantes said.

Yes that's right, running from cops in nothing but his underwear and socks, a shocking yet comical moment for neighbors.

"I'm shocked that's something I didn't want to see," Ramirez said

5 minutes into the chase and Hackett decided to jump  over the fence, literally into police arms.
Sgt. Paul Cervantes says he hopes situations like this could be more common.

"It would make our jobs easier if all the criminals ran into our police stations," Sgt. Cervantes said.
