Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies uncover an outdoor marijuana grow at Jensen & Marks with 474 pot plats growing amongst other legitimate crops.
The discovery was made Tuesday morning around 10:00 AM on the property where chilies and other crops were being grown. The marijuana plants were under plastic cover to insulate them and keep them from being spotted by law enforcement.
Sheriff’s Deputies say they are not surprised to see the plants growing out in the open. One deputy said, “People growing this stuff for a profit are getting creative in the ways they disguise it. The particular plants were all underneath plastic out there with chilies and other legitimate crops.”
There was also a small hut near the plants where someone could camp out and watch over the crops. There was nobody in the hut at the time but officers do expect to make arrests in the case.
Deputies say the plants were genetically modified to increase the THC content in the plants, which increases the value so each plant had a street value of about $1,000.
