Hundreds of people in Kings County are unhappy with a new, alternate high speed rail route.

Developers proposed going around Hanford to the west, to calm farmers' concerns, but land owners still don't like it.

Joyce Cody of Cody Fruit Stand said, "How can they do an E.I.R. (environmental impact report), when they haven't even talked to the people it's effecting, and their lives, and their homes, and their businesses?"

Kings County Supervisor Richard Valle said, "The Hanford west bypass, that's a joke. That's nothing that is acceptable to the county. When we talked alternate routes for them to look into, we talked 99 and we talked I-5..."

Supervisor Doug Verboon said, "Fresno County is stepping on Kings County to get what they want out of the deal."

So far nothing has been decided.

Why would this high speed rail NOT go thru Visalia? Why Hanford or Corcoran? That doesnt make business since. It is sooo irritating that a population of 120,000 + has to DRIVE 20 miles to a 35,000 population to take Amtrak. And Corcoran, DON'T THINK TOO MANY PRISONERS USING THE HIGH SPEED RAIL!!!!!! And at least Visalia has its pop of 130k along with Tulare 50k, Exeter,Farmersville, and Goshen (110k+) just to name a few more surrounding cities. This is why AMERICA will never be great again. We have litigated a good portion of the money arguing over this development while Europe and China surpass us with transportation, buildings, bridges and so on......
