A Fresno man wanted for stealing cars is now accused of kidnapping too.
Police say 44-year-old Paul Alley held a Fresno woman at gunpoint earlier this week and took her to Madera County.
The 25-year-old victim managed to escape on Monday at Bass Lake. She told the suspect she needed to cool off so he let her jump in the water but she kept swimming until a boater pulled her aboard.
The case appears to be drug related.
The victim and the suspect did know each other beforehand.
