Fresno police break up a kidnapping in progress. Twins suspects, Daniel and Ulysses Carrillo, 24, are now behind bars. Late Tuesday night police pulled over a red S.U.V. for speeding. Officers didn't expect to find a 20-year-old man tied up in the backseat. The victim was bound with duck tape but had managed to kick out the back window trying to escape. Fortunately for him, officers spotted the car speeding near Kings Canyon and Argyle.
“He was completely terrified when our officers first made contact with him. Some of the first words out of his mouth was that he was very happy to see the police when he realized they were being pulled over for the traffic stop,” said Lt. Anthony Martinez of the Fresno Police Department.
Police say one of the suspects was sitting on the victim, holding him down. Daniel Carrillo is the victim's roommate. They live in a house on east Sierra Vista. According to police the kidnapping happened at the house.
“The suspects attacked the victim, forced him down, and were able to duck tape him. Then they removed him from the location,” said Lt. Martinez.
Officers searched the home early Wednesday morning and found several guns. Outside the home, you can see blood stains on the sidewalk and on a cloth. A man who calls the victim a friend is upset to hear what happened to him.
“I think it's pretty messed up cause those are supposed to be his real good friends and for them to do that really kind of pisses me off,” said Alex Newman, the victim’s friend.
Police say the suspects are gang members. They're facing charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment and possession of marijuana.
