Friday graduations took place for individual colleges, and Saturday is the 101st Commencement Ceremony for Fresno State. 4840 students are graduating and many have jobs lined up.

Huong Mai graduated with her M.B.A. and she's the Graduate Dean's Medalist for the Craig School of Business. "Oh im feeling great, feeling very happy and grateful for everything," said Mai.

She's also one of the lucky grads with a new job at an accounting firm. "That's my dream come true, im living my dreams right now," said Mai.

2012 graduates say this year, more companies are hiring. But Dr. Matthew Jendian, Chair of the Sociology Department, says some fields are recovering more slowly. "The field of education severly impacted... social workers health and human services," said Dr. Jendian. He says for many students and graduates alike, their future depends on what happens with Gov. Brown's tax plan in November.

"That would help generate revenue for education, being crucial to how things move forward. and not only is it helpful for those who are in school, it's also important for the employment prospects in the educaiton field," said Dr. Jendian.

Still, compared to the past few years graduates say this year things are looking up.

"I actually had to pick between three job offers within the last month," said Nasreen El-Dahabi, another M.B.A graduate.
