Some former Fresno State football players, including Lorenzo Neal, are talking about possibly building a statue of the late Jim Sweeney outside Bulldog Stadium.

The long-time Fresno State football coach died last Friday at the age of 83.

There is a memorial service at Bulldog Stadium on Saturday.

The event is open to the public and will take place on the field named after the coach, the man credited with starting the red wave.

Saturday's memorial begins at 1:00 p.m. but you can also tailgate ahead of time in the White Lot, which opens at 10:00 a.m.

The 1:00 p.m. memorial will also be carried live on the CBS47.tv website.
