Visalia police looking for an arsonist who tried to start several homes on fire in the area of Dinuba Blvd. and Riggin Avenue.

A total of five fires sparked around 9:30 p.m. when someone apparently threw Molotov cocktails at the homes.

Lucky, fire crews were able to keep the damage to a minimum at all of them but did have to call for some backup to handle all the calls.

Battalion Chief Charlie Norman with Visalia Fire said, "The majority of these homes are single family residences in the northern part of the city... unknown, we're still trying to connect the dots to see what we have as far as any type of connection with the fires."

Investigators are talking to witnesses to try to determine who is behind the fires.

There is no word yet on how much damage all the fires caused.
