As Black Friday-like lines expanded around the world Thursday, a smaller version started forming at 2pm at the Fresno AT&T store on Blackstone near Herndon.First in line, a familiar face… Jarred Szot arrived at 2 pm for the third year in a row.
“Three years in a row we've been here…iPhone 4, 4s, 5… always first… Apple always makes you want to advance to get something new…that new thing,” Szot said.
It's first come first serve at the three main phone carriers and apple stores when stores open at 8am Friday.
The iPhone 5...redesigned with bigger, slimmer, and faster features, cost between $200-$400 for those with a contract.
Apple took two million pre-orders for the phone in the first 24-hours they were available last week.
AT&T Manager Andrew Chacon says they're prepared if inventory runs out.
“If we do run out of phones tomorrow the option will still be available for our customers to order, and we can have that phone shipped directly to their house,” Chacon said.
Online orders won't be available for two or three weeks. Besides...they say waiting in line can be more thrilling than ordering online.
And by dinner time, the store manager ordered pizza* for jarred and fellow Apple aficionados.
